We are thrilled to share that Alvin H. Butz Inc. has become our first Approved Worksite in Allentown. They are committed to well-being for their staff, a strong sense of community, and leading by example - and it shows!
Founded in the mid-1800s with the construction of covered bridges, Alvin H. Butz, Inc. has evolved into a pioneer of construction management in the Lehigh Valley, introducing the model to the region in 1973. Today, the Butz Family of Companies employs 200 professionals—many with decades of service—who thrive in an environment dedicated to mentorship, professional growth, and collaborative excellence.
The achievement was the result of a months-long approval process in which Butz completed key best wellness practices, including:
- Walking Moais – group walking sessions to encourage movement and connection
- Personal Pledges – employee commitments to healthier lifestyles
- Volunteerism – fostering purpose through community service
These initiatives have already generated measurable results, including increased employee volunteer participation, improved engagement survey scores, and requests for health and wellness workshops.
The celebration concluded with the Blue Zones Project team and Mayor Tuerk joining Butz colleagues as they completed the final walk of their inaugural 10 week, employee led movement Moai.
With this milestone, Alvin H. Butz, Inc. continues to lead not just in construction excellence, but in building a culture where people thrive—at work, at home, and in the community.
